Terrific syllabi database at Syracuse

by Rasmus Kleis Nielsen

Colleagues often ask me for recommendations on qualitative methods and mixed-method research for designing syllabi.

For those happy to draw on inspiration from political science and sociology, I’ll recommend the terrific syllabi database maintained by the Center for Qualitative and Multi-Method Inquiry at the Maxwell School at Syracuse University.

It includes versions of Chuck Tilly’s legendary course “Designs of Social Research” which I learned a ton from in 2006, as well as many other inspirational and ambitious reading lists.

Great resource overall, also for people working in media and communication research.
